September 8th Sunday@ Cayuga 5pm - 9pm! 2019 Touge.ca 20+ track event!!

Hello all friends and drivers,

We're starting to build a drivers list for the Cayuga track event signup on the September 8th Sunday.

We have the track on Sunday from 5pm - 9pm

A little background -

Cayuga Toronto Motorsports Park. Located in Cayuga, just south of Hamilton, Ontario, this developing Motorsport complex can be configured as two smaller circuits of 1.2 and 1.8 km each or one large 3 km road course. We will use the 3 km circuit. The paved surface is a safe, flat design with good run-off room (no barriers or guardrails) and excellent sight-lines. The course has ample straights, challenging large and small chicanes, tight 90 degree and sweeping high speed turns. A truly good technical course.

It is a great learning track with two long straights, 11 challenging turns, safe run-off everywhere, and a separate area for exercises.

We usually have a briefing prior to getting out on the track, followed by a few warm up laps, then lapping for the rest of the day. "Lapping" refers to just that, doing laps. For beginners group, Passing is STRICTLY prohibited except on the back straight, and only when the person in front of you has allowed you by by signaling you to pass. We reserve all rights to kick people off the track that are driving dangerously and/or aren't listening to track marshalls.

Anyone found a good solution to storage of change? Not being a millenial, I do like to have actual cash money on hand to purchase things and end up with change. Is there a good tray insert or something that may go into the armrest storage or standup change sorter or something.

Dang millenials. Get off my lawn and respect the nickels and quarters.

I am new here. I couldn't find a thread about this specific brand and wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not. I'm getting ready to change my manual transmission fluid and was curious if I could use valvoline synchromesh instead of the GM brand?

Has anybody done a successful transmission swap with the 2nd gen cl? I heard about the odyssey & Honda av6 accord transmissions. When I talk to multiple local mechanics they tell me it’s absolutely not going to work. I need advice ASAP I’ll get rid of the car if becomes stressful.

I have recently removed a Driver side front power seat from and Acura MDX pretty sure it was a 2001-2006 model. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 18 pin connector that plugs into the seat from the main cabin wiring harness. I am trying to use this seat out of the car and just need to know which wires supply power to the seat.

Coolant issue

I walked by my daughters car and smelled coolant so i popped the hood and notice that the coolant splashed on to the engine.
The only noticeable place i notice it's coming from is the coolant reservoir or reservoir cap. Anyone have an idea on what the issue is, do i just need a new reservoir and cap?

Installing Accord Switch for Driving Lights

Does anyone have a wiring diagram or know which pin goes to what? There are three gold pins and two silver pins. I broke the plastic off around the pins so I can solder the wires because I can’t find a wiring harness for it. Heck, if anyone knows how to get a wiring harness to fit this switch that would be probably be even more useful. Any help is appreciated!!

proper way to jump start-2008 Acura TL-S

not sure if this has been discussed before as I cannot find any thread but I think its very imp as our car are battery hungry and sometimes need jump start.
my question is where to connect the -ve (BLACK) cable while doing jump start.
As per the manual(pg 324) it says to connect it to the the grounding strap , but it seems too close to the pully,

I found another solid area as outline in the pic, under engine cover for grounding, but the manual strictly mentioned
not to connect to any other engine part.

Please let me know what other have done and its safe procedure.

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Jerzy, a happy owner of 2019 RDX Advance. I can only compare it to cars I drove before (Accord V6, Avalon) and I think it is wonderful car. It is my first SUV but I don't even notice it, since it drives like passenger car. First thing I noticed was steering - it reacted instantly and car just went where I wanted. Braking is the best of any car I know. Engine and transmission works better IMHO than my previous Accord V6. It is my first "luxury" car, so perhaps others expect more, but I find a lot unnecessary complains. I bought this car about year ago and made almost 8k miles. So far it is perfection, other than infotainment software bugs things like occasional USB error. It is likely that I got car with newer firmware and/or just been lucky. I follow this great forum for a year, but now decided to participate.

I have a 2006 Acura TSX with Navi. In the last few days the HFL has been going in and out and now completely won't work. I ran the diagnosis on the Navi and the pic here shows the HFL is in red. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'd like to avoid going to the dealership. Is this the HFL unit that's bad or maybe just a bad fuse? Anyway none of the HFL buttons on the steering wheel work either. They are totally dead. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

2005 RL electrical issues (shocker!!)

Hi all,
I have searched and searched but I can't find an answer to my questions. Sorry if they have been asked before. I recently bought a 2005 RL and I love it. At first the nav screen would not power on and there were other warning lights that came on. After reading in these forums, I discovered the issues with the exterior door handle sensors. I removed the door panels and the passenger side wiring harness was fried all the way back into the dashboard. I replaced the wiring harness completely and that fixed the original issues. I see that this is quite a frequent problem for folks so I left both door handle sensors disconnected. Now I am having new problems and I am stumped. The key fob will lock and unlock the doors just fine and it says "Welcome Driver 1" as it should but it will not open the trunk. Neither will the button on the driver's door. The only way to open it is the emergency release in the trunk. I got a new valet switch with the new wiring harness and had my mechanic put that in. At first the door button would open the trunk. I'm not sure of the chain of events exactly but he initially put the door handle sensors back on, though I told him to leave them off. It may have been while the sensor was connected that the trunk would open, though it never opened with the fob since I got it, but now it will not open at all, no matter in what position the valet switch is. In addition the "Check Keyless Access" warnings are constant and super annoying now. (I am also getting the AFS warning lights but I believe that is the real leveling sensor).

My question is whether it is possible that the driver side door handle sensor being disconnected could be causing the issues with the trunk and the Keyless Access warnings? Is there anything I can do to fix these issues? I have read where others disconnected the sensors but they did not mention the problems I am experiencing after.

Can someone please tell me how to fix these issues or at least point me in the right direction to get started? Could my mechanic have messed up the wiring harness somehow?
Thanks in advance for any feedback and tips! Have a great day.

Sport Hybrid-Clunk when going from Park to Reverse

Sometimes on my Hybrid MDX when I go from Park to Reverse, I hear a clunk. Is that normal? In all cases the car is on a flat surface with no incline.
Of course, I have my foot on the brake pedal when doing so.
In the Auto Brake post I wrote a few days ago, another user mentioned what causes it and how to avoid it.
I don’t know what else I can do other than pressing the brake pedal and switching from P to R.
