I'm doing some homework to determine the difference (if any) between the 2014 and 2019 RLX SH. Had anyone identified any changes or differences between the two? I'm in the market, and naturally 2014's are less expensive, even when miles are identical between the two model years. But I'm hesitant since first year models can be dodgy. I'm curious to know what corrections or fixes were made between 2014 and 2016.
I'll keep looking but if anyone knows of any differences please let me know  Thanks!
More of a general question but after a recent repair, I noticed my wheel pointed right when driving straight, maybe 30 degrees.
I took it back and they fixed it, told me the guy who did the original work (cosmetic wheel damage) didn't check toe alignment when he reinstalled the wheel.
I put about 20 miles driving crooked like that, did it do much collateral damage? And out of curiosity, if I kept driving like that for many miles, what would happen?
Hello all I currently own a 2007 RDX. I frequently get the nav disk error display. I'm wondering if there is a place to have my DVD repaired or replaced.
As a bonus I live in Canada so are there any Canadian places?
I've tried the search but most results are people trying to update the disk.
Thanks
Hey guys, just back from a weekend trip to interior BC, Canada where I participated in a track day event at Area 27 in a fully stock NSX with street tires and iron brakes. Enjoy!
My 08 TL is at 75,000 miles and I've been intermittently getting the 'tighten fuel cap' message. I replaced the cap before learning that there is a common issue with the Purge Control Valve, and of course the new cap didn't solve the problem.
I've been getting this message again recently but there is some drivability issue as well. Pulling from a stop there's a slight lag when pushing the pedal and during driving as well. This throttle response issue comes only when I get the gas cap message.
Does the purge control valve typically cause any other issues other than the dash message? I'm wondering if it might be some other issue in this case.
I guess some other types of options are:
- in-dash replacement? probably most expensive
- display to your phone?
- stand-up display, perhaps cheapest but most ghetto-looking
Hi Everyone. I have learned a lot here. I currently drive a previously well-maintained 2003 Acura TLS after driving the wheels off 2 Accords for years. Both of the regular Hondas were 200-300K. My current TLS has 277K. I bought this car after researching and I bought it with replaced tranny. I am looking at Rl's now for my next oldie but goodie reliable ride. I just learned about the CMBS and the PAX tire issue so I know I will have some upcoming cost involved. My local tire guy wasn't very knowledgeable so I will be re-reading the posts here on that as well.
I cannot find anywhere in the settings where to adjust the beeping threshold.
Now the senors go wild when I am 4 feet away from the obstacle. I would like to reduce that.
Might anyone know the minimum "Drive Cycle" for a 1997 Acura CL 3.0? I rarely drive the car and kept it with the battery disconnected, not realizing it would erase the history necessary for smog certification. OBD System says not ready to test. Want to minimize wasted time driving around to create a history. Thank you!
Anyone experience a faint squeak sound whenever the brake pedal is depressed? This is an in-cabin sound coming from the actual pedal (ie. not coming from the brakes, calipers, rotors etc)
If I push lightly on the brake pedal, I hear an immediate squeak noise. It's just one squeak as the pedal is depressed, not a constant one. But if I take my foot off the pedal and just lightly press down again, it will happen again every time. Just wondering if this is normal or something that can be corrected. I've read online that people just spray WD40 behind the pedal and that solves the issue - but that was not an RLX-specific fix.
I checked in safe mode, no scripts blocking, etc.. different browsers.. nothing.
It's been like this for a while.. finally annoyed me enough to say something.
Having recently graduated college and having an actual income, I started throwing around the idea of moving from the TSX into a sports car. I made a list of cars in the 35k-40k range including the E92 M3, M240i, and Mustang GT. The E92 was ruled out as reliability and preventative maintenance costs pushed me away. I drove a M240i and liked it, but I never fell in love with the way it looked. I liked the Mustang but the overall build quality left something to be desired. The car also just felt too big while driving. Not to mention every high school kid around here has a Mustang.
A few days later I stumbled upon an ad for a 1/5 Viper Green 2016 Audi TTS with 17k miles. The car was advertised in mint condition with a full frontal clear bra covering half the car and 3 layers of a ceramic coating installed, and a year and a half of extendable warranty left. The car had the APR Stage 1 tune to 370hp/380tq and a 0-60 time listed at 3.5s. I never considered the TTS, but this particular car with the color and options intrigued me.
I checked out and drove the car the following week and it absolutely blew away my expectations. I loved the Viper Green (Which is a Paint to Sample Porsche color), and it was one of the hardest launching cars I've ever been in. The exclusivity of the 1/5 was also appealing to me (Viper Green is also a rare Porsche color. There is just 1 918 made in Viper Green). The interior was absolutely gorgeous with the stitched seats, virtual navigation and bang & olusfen sound system. Not to mention 370hp/380tq is insane for a car of this size and weight. The first owner of the car was an Audi Exec who had been given the car. The second owner is also a mechanical engineer and took pristine care of the car and did all the mods I would have done.
I sold the TSX to my cousin to use as his first car, and picked up the TTS last Thursday. The car is fully loaded and has the Tech package, 20" wheels, Bang & Olufsen sound, Audi side assist, and Fine Nappa Leather w/ Diamond stitching.
Current mods include the APR Stage 1 tune, APR DSG tune, clear-bra, color matched side markers, Ceramic Coating, H&R Springs, and 15mm/20mm wheel spacers.
So far I've put around 150 miles on it. The launch control on this car is absolutely bananas. Previous owner said he did the 1/4 in 11.9 and it certainly feels like it.
Here are some photos from the ad:
Checking out the car for the first time (Notice the TSX in the back):
A few owners have started a group to share and discuss Infotainment issues with the hope of finding commonality and maybe some tips and tricks to survive until Acura releases some fixes. If you've got pics, videos or just a story we'd like to hear it. Got a tip to make it work better would love that too. It's a Facebook group called: Acura RDX Gen3 Infotainment and General Complaints https://www.facebook.com/groups/440012920189104
This is not a drill. On my way home from work I got notification that there was a software update available. Surprisingly, it was not a false notification. D.1.1.4 just installed 5 min ago; not sure what the changes are or how it will perform. No Android Auto, but Im sure you guys wont be surprised about that.
