Pandora Station List No Longer Works

$

Hi All,

I think this is a somewhat recent Pandora app bug and not a bug with the head unit, but on the last couple of updates to Pandora my ability to select stations from the Station List just hangs. No stations display, and I have to cancel out of the menu to get back. If I select a station before connecting my iPhone to the car, that station will play, but it seems like some app bug is causing this.

I tried connecting a really old iPod Touch (4th gen) and that works fine -- stations play and can be changed (which is why I think it's a Pandora app bug). So can a couple of you with iPhones see if yours Station List is working or not, and if working please let me know what version of the Pandora app you're using so I can try to reach out to Pandora via Twitter with a more informed complaint.

Thanks!

Shopping the 2017 CPOs and there is a good amount price difference between the 2016 MDX Base (27k+) vs. 2017 MDX Base (32k+), about 5k. When can I expect the 2017's to drop? After Nov/Dec sales numbers?

Ch ch ch ch here comes the train. Sound from wheel

Hello I’ve been dealing with a “ch ch ch” noise coming from the front driver side wheel. I first thought it was the breaks but when the clutch is engaged the noise stops and continues after the clutch is released. The sound goes with the speed of the vehicle. Slower the speed the less of the sound. Faster the speed faster the sound. See the link to my cloud where I tried to capture the noise

Chchch sound

also my driver axle is bad but this isn’t a clicking noise. Could it be related?

Has anyone ever attempted to do this? I like the 12+ bumper better but prefer the 09-11 lip. Looking at the pics between the 2 bumpers the lower portions look very similar if not the same and would think it could fit. Prob wont but thot I'd ask just in case anyone has done it or tried and could lmk. Tried searching but didnt find anything.

P-AWS Rear Actuators replaced now my car makes a womp womp sound when driving

So while driving my kids to daycare on a rainy morning, my TLX starting flashing all sorts of systems failures and my dash light up with all sorts of indicator warning lights. I promptly pulled over and read some of the warning messages in the Diagnostic folder. Call Acuralink but it was ring w no answer. So I turned off the car, waited a few minutes a restarted it. Presto car when back to normal. I later took it to the dealer and they said that my P-AWS Rear Actuators are bad. They had to order the parts so they kept the car overnight.

When it was done and I picked it up, I immediately notice that my alignment was way off and the excessive tire noise. Dealer did an alignment and said the front wheels where misaligned and they fixed the toe. They also said that they only touched the rear wheels so it wasn't them.... okay. So how did the front wheels get misaligned? Anyways, I still have the excessive tire noise which makes a womp womp sound when driving.

I am trying to figure out if maybe I need just need new tires or if I need to bring the car back to the dealer.

Headlights from Hell!

Ok, so first I want to thank everyone for their input on my last post, very helpful! Second, I want to express how much I am pulling my hair out over this headlight problem because it still persists. Even my local shop can't figure it out without spending "significant" time with it.

Problem: Turn the headlight switch on and either the left, the right or both headlights are either on or off. The sequence seems random. Sometimes both come on in a row, sometimes never. It also doesn't seem to make a difference if the key is turned to accessory mode or fully started. Same problem.

Knowns:

- All stock OEM parts. Ballasts, Igniters, and bulbs have all been replaced, including fogs. I had a new wiring harness kit from Retrofit Resource, sent it back because it didn't fix the problem. I also located the ground from both headlights and cleaned and replaced and got sparks for each, making the headlights come on. I thought it was fixed...until the 3rd or 4th time I tried the headlights...Back to square one.

- The blinkers work whether the headlights are lit or not when the switch is turned to the "on" position, which someone else on this forum pointed out may be a ground issue if they don't come on, so that's one clue.

- The fogs, which used to work regardless no do not come on AT ALL now. No matter what the headlights are doing there are no fogs. That's another clue as to what the problem might be.

- All fuses check out fine but given the fogs no longer work all of the sudden, that could be a fuse problem, I need to check. What could cause a fuse to blow by simply turning on a light? Short circuit?

So what could possibly be causing this issue?!

What the above tells me is it's an intermittent power problem but I have yet to find the cause. Maybe that's not the issue, who knows. This is my only car for my family and I need to get to the bottom of this. Help!

Thanks in advance!

Infiniti couldn’t resist the success of TLX concept, so unexpectedly today they announced the release of QX55.

The QX50 failed miserably, let’s see how the QX55 performs in this competitive market.

2005 TSX overheating help

Hi everyone, I recently had problem my bursted radiator and changed new radiator, thermostat(oem), lower radiator hose and radiator fan switch sensor (aftermarket from eBay). The problem is the cooling fan and condenser fan are not kicking when the temperature gauge pass half way through. I swapped around the relay under hood in fuse box but doesn't do any good to cooling fan to run. Both fans run only when A/C on. I am running out of ideas.
Fan are working, New thermostat, new fan switch, relay seem all good. Is there anything missing I need to do running the cooling fan? Please help. I have searched on the forum and didn't see anyone had similar problem. Has anyone used aftermarket radiator sensor fan switch with any issue?
TL has another sensor on thermostat housing. Not sure about if 2005 TSX has another sensor. What I need is somehow to trigger the fans to run. Please any of your thoughts. Thank you everyone in advance.

Let me begin by saying: I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to have a 2019 Acura TLX 3.5L V6 SH-AWD Aspec loaned to me for a couple weeks. While the TLX that I own, a 2018 3.5L V6 FWD P-AWS Technology is in the shop. And... I'd like to take this opportunity to make a new thread to discuss my experience (yours may vary, we will agree on some aspects, disagree on others...).

Here is the car I have on loan:

I've got the system reading my text messages off my phone, but the system reads all of the source phone numbers and a lot of other garbage.

How to I go about abbreviating the text that it's reading to get just the author and message?
I cant find anything on the RDX's system to abbreviate what it sends.
Is it on the phone somewhere?

2019 RDX Check Engine Light Blinking

$

HI All,
I bought brand new Acura RDX 2019 in July last year, It has hardly 8000 miles on it..

I faced this scary situation few days ago, I was driving my RDX while it was raining heavily, the rain stopped after some time, I was driving on highway and all of a sudden "Check Engine Light" started blinking, car started shaking, speed dropped to 30-40 mph and the car could not go faster than that.
I was lucky that there was no car right behind me, I somehow changed lanes & took the very first exit. Stopped the car in safe pace. I turned off the engine and turned it back on. And the Check Engine Light disappeared.

I reported it to the dealer, they checked but strangely there was no error code they found. They did few road tests. They are working with Acura Tech Line for help. They tried reproducing the problem by spraying water on the car because they suspected water entering engine could have caused this problem. Still They could not reproduce the issue. Dealer is saying it could be one off thing, so take your car back and hope it doesn't happen again.
The car is still with the dealer, its been 9 days already.

I want to know if anyone has experienced this type of issue on their Acura RDX 2019... Please share your experience and next steps you took. What are my options

I am worried driving this vehicle, My trust & faith in RDX 2019 & Acura brand overall is shaken. I feel i paid 50K US$ to buy a problem than peace of mind.

Thanks.

I purchased this j-pipe over a year ago and never got around to installing it. Now that I've sold my car it is time to start clearing out some parts. The part is brand new. You get everything that came in the box: hat, licence plate frame, and installation kit with instructions. Asking $350 + shipping. If you want bolt on power, this is great place to start. Thanks for looking. Message me if you have any questions

I previously had read in this forum that when IOS 13 is released (which is now being beta tested) Apple CarPlay issues should greatly improve. I tend to disagree. At least as far as Waze is concerned. This past week while on vacation I rented a Chevy Tahoe which had Apple CarPlay. The Tahoe connected instantly with CarPlay and worked flawlessly with Waze. The Tahoe NEVER disconnected from Waze or CarPlay. This leads me to believe that since I have been using IOS 12.3.1 in both my 2019 RDX and in the Tahoe, the current issues I am having with Waze in my RDX are not the fault of Apple. Therefore, the problems will not be improved by IOS 13. I hope I am wrong but suspect I am correct.

Observations after month of ownership 2008 WDP TL A-Spec

$

Hello all! So I have owned my 2008 TL for one month. Here are my observations thus far. Please excuse this post if it gets too long. I purchased it used from a Toyota Dealership with about 81,000 miles on it. It had tints on it (20% sides, 5% rear), but I ended up removing them because I am getting older and my eyesight is not what it used to be. It just wan't fun to drive at night with tints that dark.

1) The dash is not terribly cracked, but it is cracking. It doesn't bother me as much as others, but if it ever does, I will most likely try the Coverlay. I don't like how the Dashmats look, so they are not an option. I bought one of those windshield visor covers, but it is so hot down here I am not sure how much it will really help, so I haven't been using it much.

2) The Carfax says that the oil was changed in April at 78,000 miles so I will probably get my first oil change in the next few weeks. The Acura dealership says oil changes start at $79.99. However the Honda dealership says theirs start at $44.99. It is 20 bucks extra for tire rotation at both places. The Honda dealership's prices seem to be much cheaper than Acura's.

3) Things that I am planning on getting done in no particular order. I am sure some members can advise: Spark Plugs, Alignment (feels good now. no hands on wheel and it keeps straight), Brakes, Timing Belt (valves, tensioners, water pump, etc...). These were all services recommended by the Honda Dealer when I took it in for a tranny drain.

4) The stupid tighten gas cap message comes on at 3/4 and 1/4 of a tank. It goes off pretty much after the next restart. I will probably follow Ghost's tutorial and replace the Purge Control Solenoid Valve soon.

5) For some reason the Bluetooth doesn't really play nice with my iphone 6s+. It pairs fine and when someone calls I get an alert and I can talk to people. But, when I press the pick up button on the steering wheel I have to go to the phone and select to talk through Bluetooth, which kinda defeats the purpose of being "handsfree". I try not to fool around with the phone while driving anyway, so I wouldn't have used it much regardless. I haven't noticed any problem with the HFL, so I will just keep an eye on it and disconnect it if it ever causes any issues.

6) The only thing that I am still not totally in love with are the downshifts. This is probably the topic that I have researched the most. At first, I thought there was a problem that I must not have noticed during the test drive. It doesn't happen all of the time. It's mostly when I have to brake hard (like going 50 and need to slow it up quickly). It feels like I am hitting the brakes, while I am hitting the brakes(?). It was weird. The only service that I have had done so far is the 1x3 drain. The guy at Honda showed me the drain plug and was like, "hey, we have to show you this so that if you have any tranny issues, we have documented that we aren't the cause." He asked if I had noticed anything strange. At the time the downshift was strange to me so we talked about that a little. I don't think the fluid had been changed before so the guy said that is probably why the drain plug was somewhat gunky looking. The fluid wan't black/burnt or anything like that though. The plug didn't really have any large shavings on it like some pics I have seen on the net. Some of those look almost like a troll's head. My plug looked more like it had a gunky afro. I should had taken a pic of it, but I wasn't thinking about it because I'm was sitting there wondering if they are trying to nudge me towards unnecessary tranny repairs. He said that the drain should smooth it out some and if not we can try a 3x3. This was before I learned about grade logic, etc... The drain did smooth the shifts out some (upshifts were already pretty smooth), but the feel of the downshift is still there and I am keeping an eye on it. Gears aren't slipping or grinding or clunking or anything like that. A friend of mine who owns a 2009 TSX (he also works at the BMW factory here in SC) rode with me and told me the downshift is just going to take some getting used to and I shouldn't be worried about it. Keep in mind that my previous car was a 2007 Saturn and before that a 2005 Impala, so it's not like I'm used to driving a vehicle as beastly as this one!

Overall: I LOVE the look of this car and the way that it accelerates from stops as well as how I can be going 70 and still hit it and leave people behind! I have been calling around about Timing belt prices. The Honda Dealership is by far the cheapest option at $780 for the complete service. One Honda/Acura Specialist shop wants $1400. The Acura dealership wants $1125. The compliments about the car are just non-stop. One lady almost got into a wreck she was staring so hard. It is really fun to drive and I appreciate the sporty, yet luxurious look and feel of the ride. Hopefully, I can get many more miles out of it. I live maybe 3 miles from work, so it's not like I have to do a lot of driving. I look forward to learning as much as I can from the long time Acura owners on this forum. Thanks in advance!
