So i have a Acura TL 2005 thats manual and I have a problem with my steering. It feels loose and it twitches if thats the best way to explain it. It sometimes clunks when I shift into gears. It has a new motor, motor mounts, axles, steering rack with inner tie rods and new tires. Just got a alignment and it still feels loose. Ball joints are fine, outer tie rods are fine what could be the issue?

What is the maximum number of keys that can be paired to a TSX?
Ive got a 2nd gen 2009 TSX and lost one of the OEM 4 button switchblade keys that came with the car somewhere the confines of the house. There is a small possibility that it was thrown out in the trash, but more likely it is burried in a jacket or closet or some small recess that will be found in the future.
In the meantime, I'd like to get a replacement key. Just a simple cheap mechanical key. No need for the remote.
So two questions arise.
1) are there such keys which are compatible with the car, and if so where can I buy one reliably? I just need a blank; my local locksmith said he can cut a blank for 50$ and my mechanic will program it for free.
2) if/when the original key is found, will it still work? Or does pairing the replacement key invalidate the original one? Is there a maximum number of keys that can be paired to the car?
Thanks
Eric

check charging system went off and all electronics turned off
Hello, I was driving on the highway when the check charging system light turned in. It did so intermittently until it settled. Then the airbag light and all the lights went off , I barely managed to park but by that time the screen was blank on the gauge and the gauge lights were blinking. Is this a sign of a dead alternator ? I will be able to jump start it but from there I have to drive back home and it's going to be a long drive . Any suggestions ?

Test Drove a Challenger
Still have 11 months left on my lease but reached out to my local Dodge dealer to look at a 2019 Challenger scat pack Widebody. I have always thought this was a good looking car but once they applied the widebody look to the 392 I had to take a look. Not a practical replacement as a daily for me but definitely desirable and I was set on buying or leasing if the numbers worked out. After about an hours worth of determining trade in value and new car value we were close enough on numbers for me to take a test drive. You think the TLX vibrates? This thing vibrated at all speeds not just between 70 and 80 MPH. Yes it was faster, sounded great, and handled well but for whatever reason there was nothing smooth about the ride. The whole car shook at just about any speed and I'm not talking about engine rumble. I took it for a loop on the strip on interstate I travel often. The plan was to take the car for a test drive then go back and negotiate more on the price. Very quickly I determined this was not the car for me for any price. Could the 305 tires on the 20 X 11 rims be out of balance? That was my guess but there was no way I was buying a brand new car off the lot with that kind of vibration and hood shake. The salesman in the passenger seat understood my concern and didn't try to provide any solution so I thanked him for his time and departed.
This is the second new car I have test driven the last few months and been disappointed with. The other being a 2018 BMW 340i Xdrive with a manual. I have sat as a passenger in a 2.0 Genesis G70 and it was nice but I need to test drive a 3.3 twin turbo version of that car. Of course I like the Type S concept but I need to see it in production guise 1st.

TLX V6 FWD exhaust
Hey!
My cat bank 2 has died. Strange for a car that is 4 years old. However if I am going to do this, I might as well get some nice exhaust parts on it right?
I am planning on getting the pre cat delete and maybe a J-pipe and calling it a day. That is my plan. Is it a good idea? Do I need more things? Because to my knowledge that is all that is required.
Thanks for your help!

07 Type S-Random Misfire
So I have done a lot of reading on this topic, and I mean a lot. I have an type-s 6mt. Since last year Ive been trying to figure out why I have random misfires. Ive read about plugs, egr cleaning, low compression, and the infamous over-rev or mis-shift on the manuals killing valves. So far I have changed the spark plugs-NGK, Cleaned the Egr valve, cleaned the intake ports, always run 93 from same gas station, and had a valve adjustment done. It is still true I need to do a compression check but I am just confused because this car pulls very strong, only uses half a qt of oil in 3k miles-192k miles on car-, and still achieves 25mpg being beat. It does not smoke and the code will cycle every few hundred miles. I have swapped coils from my friend and seems to help for a while but returns. I have checked the plugs and there is no oil. Now consistently on cold starts it will throw the codes then go away. I can hear a little rumble through exhaust but I do have PCD's, a jpipe, and mm delete. I guess I will do a compression check and see what the numbers are I just don't get why it still performs so well. If numbers are good I will do a leak down test but at this point I don't want to spend a lot of money on new engine or rebuilding this one. Any other suggestions are open- Thank you

RLX to be discontinued
Quoted from AutoNews two days ago:
"The luxury brand has said it will get down to four core vehicles: two sedans and two crossovers. The RLX full-size sedan is set to be discontinued given its poor sales. Moreover, Acura is refocusing on the NSX as its halo vehicle rather than a big sedan."

RPM "jumping" around 25-30 mph
Wondering if anyone has seen this issue before? My RPM will sometimes jump up and down (like between 2K to 3K) when I'm going around 25-30mph (40-50kmph). It happens more frequently when I go up a slight incline.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Lower console clips keep coming loose
Hi,
Taken the car to the dealer twice already for the lower console clip (just above the heated / ventilated seat buttons) on the right side keeps coming loose.
I'm going to ask them to replace the whole console this time and the clips. Has anyone else had this issue?
Thanks!

CarPlay works well?
I read case after case do CarPlay not working correctly. Mine disconnects over and over. Im always using Waze. Are there any owners out there who use CarPlay with Waze and do not have any disconnects or freezes. If there are units that work correctly, then I can tell my service dept to fix it because there are others who have operational systems. However if no one can tell me it works correctly, then we know the problem is even deeper.
By the way, if you think its my phone or cable, I use the same phone and cables in my other car, a Chevy, and they work great. This is an Acura problem.

Acura speed vibration/shake
I just got an v6 acura tlx shawd with 60,000km on it (first car ever) and I couldn't help but notice that when I reached 120/140kph that there was some sort of vibration, I'm not really mechanic savvy at all, wondering if I'm in any danger behind the wheel of this vehicle, note this car was straight from the dealership and had a safety check

2020 mdx hybrid or 2020 rdx a-spec?
I know I'm posting this in the MDX section but I'm a current MDX owner (17 AWD Tech) . Looking to possibly trade in my 17 w 49k for something newer. To me its at that point where your either trade it or drive it another 50k. Its going to need tires and brakes (not a big deal but just for reference) and the MDX has become our primary family vehicle for short road trips (lots of soccer, baseball, football games and swim meets) with 4 or less passengers. We have 3 kids (20, 16, and 10) we also own a 15 Suburban for the long hauls with all 3 kids which doesn't happen often. Just drove a 2020 Tech Hybrid and a 2020 RDX A-Spec AWD and got numbers on both. There is a 4k difference between the 2 cars. Throwing out the price difference, which would you buy? The MDX is in its last year and while I'm excited for the new one, I won't buy a 1st year model so whatever I buy I will probably only keep a max of 3 years. The MDX is great but the RDX felt livelier and newer (which it is). I'm worried about losing some space in the MDX but as I said, I have a Suburban as well. Thanks everyone! I always like to post here and see other opinions.

Brake Pedal Quick Release = Clunk
Our brake pedal produces a pretty loud clunk noise when released quickly. (This is the brake pedal, not the brakes.) Under most braking conditions it's quiet, but quick release = clunk. Sometimes, when some jerk behind me is following too closely I'll do a quick tap, tap, tap of the brakes, which = clunk, clunk, clunk. Anyone else notice this? I'll put this on the list for our first scheduled service.
