Considerations for Buying a 2nd Gen RDX - 2013-2018?

I'm interested in my first Acura SUV and after further review, I am narrowing in on the 2nd Generation and specifically an RDX WITH the Technology Package.

Vehicle will not get a lot of use <10,000 miles per year. When evaluating this 2nd Gen including models from 2013-2018, are there particular reasons the newer models are that much better than say a 2013 or 2014? I read about the facelift in 2016, but that doesn't make a whole lot of difference to me. I would theoretically prefer to keep the cost down and get a 2013, 2014, or 2015 instead of a 2016, 2017, or 2018. What other things should I keep in mind when comparing 2013-15 vs 2016-18?

How to use Sport Shift?

My transmission has been slipping a lot recently in automatic. I usually drive in D5 but I’ve been putting it in D4 and the transmission still slips. I’ve been trying to teach myself how to drive in sport shift, in hopes that the transmission won’t slip. I’ve never driven a manual before so I’m just curious as to what RPM do you up shift gears at? I’ve been shifting at 2000 RPM but I’d that too early? Also, do I have to manually downshift or will it downshift automatically?

please help me identify this bolt. i'm trying to replace my upper transmission mount, came across this bolt. its going through the bracket into the mount. does anyone know what kind of bolt is it or what kind of socket use to remove it?.

How Remove/Replace VTC Control Solenoid?

I have the Shop Manual, so I know it's just one bolt, and I've found the bolt, but where do you turn it from? How do you get a wrench on it? Two choices I can imagine: through the (raised) hood, or from underneath and behind?
Anyone done this? Know the way?
Thanks. This is an 07, not that I think it makes any difference.

2014 Adv I’ve seen a lot of people on here experience the cutoff of music randomly and have to stop and restart the car to get the music going again. What’s going on with that? I know that not a lot of people have the RLX but has anyone solved this issue via the dealer or on their own?

2013 RDX driver side warm air, not cool. Air mix motor is working, click sound, so I think the problem maybe lack the refrigerant.

So I bought a set of Motegi MR127s, and I’m having troubles finding lug nuts for it.. nothing fits because apparently the only way it can fit is if the measurement was 12x1.5 for the bolt stuff.. TL’s are 14x1.5. I’m not sure what else would work does anyone have ideas

MDX: Bluetooth doesn't work after 2014 acura mdx nav update

I ran the 2019 nav update program on my 2014 MDX and it went all the way through without a hitch. After finishing the bluetooth no longer works. When you try to pair it and it asks what to pair with, phone is not highlighted and thus is not an option. I've gone through the menus several times looking for a setting that may be set wrong but have found nothing and the settings look the same as I had them before the update.Bluetooth worked fine before the update. Thanks

2007 Acura TL Type-S with manual transmission (6MT), Kinetic Blue Pearl (KBP)

This car with the rare manual transmission is in excellent condition. I really take care of my cars, and this one was no exception. For a car this old, it is basically perfect. Super fun to drive with the stick shift, 286 hp, and I installed the Progress rear sway bar to give it much better handling characteristics (less body roll). I kept the original sway bar, so you can put that back in if you are more interested in a luxury ride, but then why get a stick? :) Also, you will get a copy of a maintenance spreadsheet that I kept the entire time I owned this car. (How many used cars come with a full, exact maintenance history?) Some other items to note:

- AC blows nice and cold
- new clutch installed in Feb 2018, 10K miles ago
- tires are in good condition, but they were installed in 2016 and have about 25K miles on them

- the bluetooth module crapped out a while ago. This is a common problem with these cars. I chose not to replace it because it is sort of obsolete anyway (it only does phone operations, no streaming) so I just use an aftermarket Jabra Freeway which will be included with the car (this is $85 on Amazon).

Acura tech denies hearing noise that we heard together

I'm new here, so not sure where to post this issue. If I should post it somewhere else, please let me know.

I bought a new RDX 2019 two months ago. It makes many noises from various areas of car. The main noise is a vibration noise from the headliner. I took it in yesterday. Drove it with a tech next to me to demonstrate noise. (We'll call the tech Jimmy).

Car didn't make noise for first 10 minutes. So I showed Jimmy that you can duplicate the noise by tapping on the headliner with your hand. (I'd also included this hand-tap info in the bullet-point report that I gave to them when I came in.) So I tapped on it, and he heard the noise. I said, "That's the noise you want to be listening for."

Eventually, while on the way back to the dealership, the vibration noise started to reveal itself on its own. He heard it. He said he heard it. We discussed it as I drove.

By the way, Jimmy seemed like a super nice guy the whole time.

The service manager called me today. He said they could not duplicate the noise. I told him, "We already DID duplicate it." So he says, "All I have is what's on the report. Let me talk to Jimmy and I'll call you back."

He calls me back and says Jimmy told him that when he was driving with me, we could only create the vibration noise by tapping headliner with our hands. And that I tried to create the noise by driving over the road reflectors, but was unsuccessful.

We went back & forth for a bit, with him stonewalling me. At the end I heatedly said "Jimmy is simply lying." More robotic stonewalling from him. He kept repeating, "I can only tell you what Jimmy told me sir."

My question is, is this rare? What should (or can) I do in a situation that a tech is blatantly lying? How freaking weird. The service manager did say they took a look inside headliner, but could find nothing wrong.

Hopefully it's fixed. And the lying part is just a way to avoid "lemon law" return. Or whatever is in their paranoid/protective minds.

This dealership has a bad reputation. So though Jimmy seemed like a great guy, I guess he's just another pretender in a corrupt dealership. I figure if you're an honest employee there, you don't last long.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Amp won't turn off, help?

So my amplifier continues to stay on after the vehicle has been turned off. My temporary solution is to unplug it, which makes the dreaded morning drive to work that much less interesting. I have already tried ordering used amps from eBay, 2 of them, but neither one worked. I need some help on what my options are on getting that fixed. Since I am a novice on auto audio, I will be looking to have a professional installing the solution. Any help would be much appreciated.

Will tinting my windshield affect my ability to see my HUD?

When i wear my sunglasses that are polarized it’s hard to see the HUD, will the reflection of the HUD be affected by tint?

2001 CL Type S cupholder

I just bought a 2001 CL Type S with 125K miles on it, and i am wondering if it is possible to switch out the cupholder- the holders are too narrow for my travel mug, are there aftermarket replacements available?

another thread recommeded using 77237-S0K-A02 acura oem part, does anyone know if this is the best choice?

01 TL Ignition issues

Hello everyone. I have been having problems with my TL for a couple of months. It will randomly not start and I can hear what sounds like an electrical "arc" sound/buzzing coming from the steering column area but no crank. After trying a few minutes it eventually starts. It did that maybe once or twice a month. Now it will not crank at all, and the "buzz" is gone, but I can hear clicks coming from the relay under the dash and under the hood. I replaced the ignition switch just now but no change. I was going to just buy a new starter but wanted some info from experienced people first. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated as I can not take my car to a shop. Thanks in advance for any help!!!!!!!
