So my "D" transmission indicator light starts blinking intermittently. Dealer says that the wires in the harness between the transmission and engine are frayed and wants $2K to replace the harness. Car has 75K miles on it. Dealer says heat may have caused the issue and there is no warranty because although it connect the engine to the tranny it's not part of the power train. Really? The car can't make 75K miles without a major issue like this? I thought things like this were behind me when I got rid of my BMW 740. Anyone else seen this issue?
