Class-Action Settlement on V-6 Engines with VCM

I am about ready to purchase my first MDX and have been doing a ton of research (thanks to everyone here for their great insight on MDXs). This is my first post.

Today as I was coming in to work I stopped and talked to a mechanic who comes to our place of business and services a lot of people's cars. He is a former Honda mechanic and has a great reputation all around this area where I live. I asked him what he thought of Acura and specifically the 2014 MDXs. His reply was if it has a V-6 with VCM engine to stay away from it. He said there was a class-action lawsuit over this engine and they have major problems. Here's a link to some information I found on this:

Evidently, when cylinders are shut off oil leaks back into the cylinders and fouls the plugs, which then causes misfires. Reading through some of the comments on the above page I see people have had more troubles beside the misfiring, as the fouling and misfiring can cause other failures in the engine.

Does anyone know if the new V-6 engine in the 2014 MDX is the same one that has been causing so much trouble in the Honda vehicles?

I have been a very happy Toyota owner for the past 20 years and never had any issues with any of the vehicles (3 4Runners and 1 Camry). Reading about this potential problem has caused me to step back and rethink whether the MDX is a vehicle I want to purchase since it looks like this problem could be in the vehicle. If it does have this problem, this can affect resale value, too.

Thanks for any input anyone has.
