I have been checking out the forums but finally decided to make an account because I had a few questions on tire sizing. I have an 1998 Acura CL 3.0 and the current tires are Cooper Zeon's 225/45/R17 that came with the car when I bought it. The ride quality and traction has been pretty good however the rear ones are starting to go bald and it's time to get some new tires. My question would 235 or 245 width be able to fit on the Acura CL. I haven't dropped the car yet (currently 5 finger gap) but planning to with either Teins or Eibach Sportline springs.
225's look nice because I like the wide tire look. Has anyone put 235 or 245 tires on their CL? This is my daily driver so I don't want it to affect the driving. Gonna try to figure out the size of the rim because at the moment I don't know the rim width.
Also any tire recommendations that aren't too expensive. I live in Northern California where it only rains 15-20 inches a year and never snows at all so I could get by with a summer tire but from what I've heard all-season tires will get you more miles. I don't know too much about tires so any help and recommendations are appreciated . thanks
