So the dealer has delayed my final delivery date, citing not having had their service dept fully staffed over the Holiday weekend.
Which is all when & good, and I'm actually on track for where I thought I'd realistically be to take delivery when the car first was schedule to transfer....but naturally the sales guy set a much earlier expectation, so now I'm feeling anxious that it is 'delayed'.
The 2 items that failed 'quality inspection' which they are addressing before delivery are things I'd never heard of???
I Google'd both topics, and located good information on 1 but nothing on the other alleged condition.
They're replacing the Front Windsheild & repainting the Hood.
When I pressed for WHY these were necessary I was told these reasons:
Re: Hood repainting: Crows Feet, which while wouldn't have been an issue initially could lead to peeling paint later on.
I hadn't heard the term 'crows feet' as it related to anything other than wrinkles near eyes! But sure enough that is just 1 common term for the condition:

Re: Windshield replacement: That the Windshield wipers had 'rubbed into' the windshield ????
I couldn't believe this.
I was told well it was in a very hot environment in Texas.
But I have been to & had family in the real deserts of Nevada & Arizona, where the temps get much higher than the Austin area, which is far less brutal than say Houston, so I'm not sure what to make of this statement.
I also Google'd this topic to enlight myself as I had with the Crows Feet, term....but I haven't found anything.
Is this Dealer BS smoke & mirrors for something in your all's opinion or is this a real thing?

P.S. Since there is this slight delay, I mentioned what I'd researched about the Compliance bearings, and asked that they make sure they were in good condition up front since they'd have it a few extra days!
I was assured that they would have caught this as part of the normal inspection process, but that since I was asking specifically, they'd put it on the lift for me. So we'll see.
