Hey guys, hoping to get some insight on an issue I have been having and see if anyone has the same issue. My 2006 tl aspec was hit 6 months ago in front of my house and I decided to trade it in seeing as how I hate owning a car that had more than a couple g's of body correction/work due to collision. I now own a 2012 shawd 6auto with tech. bought it with exactly 40000k on it women owned off lease for 36+tax. When I purchased and test drove the car it seemed on point and tranny was butter. SOMETIMES the gears would shift off or too fast (it seemed) so I didn't think anything off this. I have driven acuras all my life from integra(db) to vigor to 2ng gen legend and 3g tl. My 3g tl had shifting issues when I bought it but a 3x3 and it was shifting like butter. I have yet to do even a 3l drain on the tranny yet but will be my next go. SO the issue: Today I went for a 600km drive on a long and bendy, hilled, stop and go country side of Ontario. I noticed that as a realeased the gas to lower my consumption of gas, everytime I would have the car in 5th or 6th gear, auto or s mode, the rpm would rise, then lower repeatedly as long as a I continue to press the throttle lightly. as long as I am in 5th or 6th and under 2000 rpm (1500-1900) it feels like the torque converter is engaging and then disengaging. I noticed this issue yesterday for the first time but today it seems I don't know if I will have a working transmission by next week. I checked the fluid it doesn't look bad and it smells ok. The level is between the two dots. I also have to do the propeller shaft as well as it sounds like my car is making tea past 40 kmh. has anybody had any issues with there 4g 6sp auto? I know its a carry over from the rl, but are torque converters really an issue again with these trannys? I love the car its white pearl on Milano urban tan. and help is welcomed.
