I'm having a serious dilemma here. I'm going to be pulling the trigger on the 2016 TLX the moment it's out and available. However, I'm stuck on what some consider a very minor decision. 18's vs 19's for the wheels. Keep in mind I need TWO sets. One for winter and one for summer. I refuse to use no-season (aka all season) tires in this climate. They are the worst of all worlds.
As far as I can tell, they each have advantages and drawbacks. Can anyone help add to this list?
18's
+ Superior ride
+ Less chance of blowing on a pothole or frost heave (where I live, this is a HUGE issue)
+ Tires cost less
- Worse handling
- Does not look quite as cool
19's
+ Look cooler
+ Handle better around corners
+ Improved braking
+ Better road feel (also could be a disadvantage lol)
- More expensive tires
- Larger chance of them getting damaged on these roads that are like the surface of the moon
