2008 TL Audio Install

When I sold my F150 for a commuter I took everything out except the Focal components. I took that last couple of days to get everything put in my new (to me) 08 TL.

System consists of:

Alpine 75x4 amp (currently run to front and rear 6.5s)
Alpine 500x1 amp
JL CP208LG (dual 8' micro sub setup)
JL SSI
JL Cleansweep
various relays, blocks, etc.

So as you can see the only thing missing is door and rear deck speakers. I haven't decided what I want yet so currently this is all powering the factory speakers (hold your thought, let me finish). Also haven't decided if I want to go active or passive. I have a second Alpine 75x4 to match in the event active is the decision. Love to hear some feedback on speakers from everyone. Wanting to spend around $500 on speakers.

I tapped the speaker wires AFTER the amp. I know many get the signal before but having owned a few different processors and setups I have to say, for me at least, I am in love with the sound produced by the Cleansweep. Processing at it's core is universal but the results produced are very subjective. I ran an Alpine PXA-800 for several months and couldn't dig it. Anyway, I digress...

That signal goes into my JL SSI (signal summing interface) and then to the Cleansweep. Amps from there. You know the rest.

Let me say this. I certainly will be buying components, but I'll be honest, the stock speakers - now that they are well processed and powered - sound very, very good. I'll never get the volume and clarity I want from them so they will certainly be retired. But for now they are fine.

I know - worthless without pics. Well as I was putting the car back together the flood came. I'll have to do operation cleanup and pics tomorrow. Also sound deadening happens tomorrow. Weather permitting.

Thanks and hope someone gets something out of the thread as it develops.
