Airbag Light Code 92-20

First post, hi Acurazine!

I bought a 05 TL Base Nav TL about a month ago. I have been having an intermittent air bag light pop up. It comes on about every 3rd time I drive it. When I bought the car the original owner supplied me with all the dealer invoices for all the work done on the car, the most recent being to diagnose and fix a intermittent air bag light. The dealer invoice states codes 11-10 and 92-20. Dealer replaced the "Cable Reel" (clock spring) and cleared the codes. Low and behold the air bag light came back on a few days after I bought the car.

Luckily I have the ability to scan for SRS codes (boo for non-standardized air bag systems). Again, code stored was 92-20.

92-20 - Short circuited In Passenger Air Bag Cutoff Indicator

The passenger air bag cutoff indicator is the light above the hazard switch. It should illuminate along with the air bag light in the cluster for six seconds when the key is turned to the ON position as part of a SRS system test. My cluster light always functions, the one in the dash intermittently functions.

Troubleshooting -

Tested with the scan tool the pressure sensor in the seat - Good
Tested with the scan tool the passengers side buckle - Good
Visual inspection of the wiring harness - Good

I pulled the hazard switch/passenger air bag cutoff indicator out of the dash and let it hang from its plug. I drove the car with no air bag light indicated. I gave the unit a good flick with my finger and the cluster air bag light instantly came on. Cycled the key, it remained on. Flicked it again and cycled the key, air bag light stayed off. I disconnected the the unit from the plug, cycled the key and the air bag light came back on.

I believe the intermittent nature of my problem stems from a faulty indicator. Intermittent because it lives right in between the two center HVAC ducts. When the heat is blasting the unit heats up, resistance becomes too much, triggering the code.

I ordered a new switch/light from my local Acura dealer. Should be here tomorrow.

Has anyone troubleshot this SRS code with success?
