Like the title says, my 1999 3.0CL threw the infamous P0740 code last week. The thing is, the transmission shifts just fine, no different than it ever has.
We took it to an auto repair shop, who opened and inspected the transmission, tested the ATF, tested the solenoids & wires, and found nothing wrong.
After looking around the web a LOT, it seems that some people with honda/acuras throwing p0740 and no actual symptoms, have been having good luck fixing the issue by changing transmission filters and cleaning gunked up screens.
My question for you guys is, where can I find the parts/part numbers for these filters? Is the filter serviceable without removing the transmission? (as it seems to have been with a youtuber's 3.2cl, and anothers Odyssey.)
Thanks for any help. I'm a broke college student about to graduate and don't have a job yet, I need this car to get me to interviews soon.
