I just picked up a pre-owned 2012 TL. Last Friday. One owner, clean. I've been reading on the forums for things such as the 3.7L oil consumption issues, other issues.
When reading the owners manual, I noticed in maintenance section that the timing belt should be replaced at 60k? Did Acura change the overall "no maintenance" (tune up/belt and water pump) from 105k to 60k? Im alright with that I'd just like to know who to believe before the dealership tells me one thing and I find out that I spent money too soon from the knowledge of wealth that is this forum.
I remember this from my 09
1. Oil every 5-6k (synthetic is what I used and have in their now)
2. Trans fluid spill/fill at 60k
3. plugs, wires, water pump, timing belt at 105k.
Im getting conflicting answers from everyone at Acura on the rear gear oil.
One dealer said 14k then every 30. The car had a drive shaft installed at 8k....do they change out the gear oil to perform this repair? I am unsure. Is there a service manual handy that I can download?
Currently the TL has 27 k. I just picked it up and would like to perform the necessary maintenance on the car since I am in the dark on fluid intervals on the rear. The other fluids (brake and trans oil) look great. I went over this TL AWD with a fine tooth comb. Its fantastic
Black on umber tech package. Ill post pics later.
Appreciate the help on a learning curve.
