My 2009 Acura TSX is at ~63K miles (80% highway driving) and I have always followed the maintenance minder for the services. I would like to some advice regarding the following:
1. My factory OEM Battery currently indicates it needs distilled water and I've had to jump start the battery for the past couple of days. I understand I can buy an aftermarket battery for cheap. However, I would like to first check to see if the battery is pretty much dead or if I can squeeze a little more life out of it. Unfortunately, the dealer is asking $60 just to perform a basic check!!! Other places I checked like Autozone and Advanced Auto Parts would do it for free but I would apparently have to get it replaced through them. Do you have any other recommendations?
2. The front break pads apparently would also have to be replaced (installing new pads and surfacing the rotors) and the dealer is quoting $249. Is this an okay price?
Thanks in advance!!!
