I am going to go ahead and assume it's the factory amp, but I just wanted some additional opinions.
Basically, my speakers crackle occaisionally on certain frequencies (like a long, drawn-out guitar chord at the end of a song and halfway through it crackles). I imagine this is the amp as well, and they are known to suck. However, when I get in the car in the morning and AUX is still selected but my iPod is off, I just hear: "EEEEeeEEeeeeEEEee!!!!!" until I power off the audio system. You can also hear it on XM and regular radio (and I assume CD but I never use those), but when sounds are playing it is less noticeable, but still present. The colder it is, the louder it is. It goes away after about 10 minutes when the car is warm.
Has anyone else experienced the high-pitched squealing on cold starts?
