This has been an unlucky few months for me. Let's start in November. My 94 Legend was backed into @ Chili's by an older man coming out of a handicapped space. He didn't look back and proceeded to take out my passenger door and fender with his Lexus as I sat there and watched. His insurance declared the car a total loss since parts are discontinued. Title remains clean however, since the damage did not exceed the car's value. I had 4k worth of receipts from the motor swap which is just about what they valued the car at.
Fast forward to last week, I have been driving with the damage while I sort out repairs. I finally sourced my replacement door and fender and they are ready to go into the paint shop. Driving home from work in the far right lane, an elderly lady in the center lane decided to veer into the driver side rear quarter panel (the good side!). She got me with her wheel, her 09 Rav4 sits a lot higher than my car. Took off a lot of paint around the wheel well, no dents though. Damaged my wheel a little bit too. Minimal to no damage on her car, just a bit of paint transfer.
So I have now began the claim process from this most recent accident. I am trying to prepare myself before I deal with the adjuster. Since the previous damage is still visible, will I have any issues?
Also, fun fact about the 81 y/o Asian lady who hit me, she was extremely uncooperative refused to provide her license or insurance to me. She demanded I call the police, I obliged. They arrive, determine its her fault, and give her a citation for failure to follow lane. Karma I suppose.
