6 Months and 15K Miles

I've had my '14 Advance MDX since mid-June. 15K miles and two long road trips. Sure, I've had some of the issues raised by others with this new MDX. Primarily Nav/Voice/Infotainment freeze/lockup and occasional loss of speed dial/call info in the MID and the inability to set the heated seat temp via voice command. And, yes, I wish Acura had left a few more hard buttons in place, made the Nav display so it would work with polarized sunglasses, etc.

BUT, for what it appears to have been designed for (sporty, techy, semi-luxury, 3-row crossover with good gas mileage) it is outstanding. Smooth, yet handles great. Quiet with a great sound system. Fun to drive - on road, not so much off road. Great use of space and assortment of compartments, etc. Very good value.

After all this time with it and even with the various disappointments it is an awesome vehicle and in my opinion is the best overall combination in its class.

I have had none of the mechanical issues that others have had. Just the computer system ones and those have not been safety issues or have prevented the car from getting me where I need to go.

Bottom line: After all this time and miles I still love it - for what it was designed to do. (I have also realized that it is a "crossover" rather than what some define as an "SUV" and therefore not the best for "off pavement". This may precipitate a change in the near future. Anyone want to buy mine? ;-) But this has to do with me wanting something a bit different and nothing to do with the MDX. In fact, if I move to something more appropriate for back roads in the mountains and mild off-roading then I will need to give up some very cool and appreciated features of the MDX.)

And the issues? I think of it like this. My wife loves (34 years) me but she certainly has to put up with some "issues" at times. ;-)
