Hey Guys,
This is my first post on Acurazine, I've been stalking for a while.
I have a 2003 TL type S that I've had for almost three years. Recently, I went traveling for 2 weeks. The first day back driving my car, I felt an extremely hard shift from 1st to 2nd and had CEL, ! Triangle, and D5 start flashing after a few blocks. Keep in mind, it was also about 15 degrees outside. :frown:
I parked and turned off the engine. After turning it on again after some time, only the CEL remained on. I needed to get to work, and couldn't get it checked out immediately, so the manual said I could nurse it just a few miles to work.
However, I noticed that after all that, it had no problem shifting through all the gears. It pretty much felt like normal. :confused:Regardless, I took it to autozone to get the code read. I got back code P1750
I know what that code means, and saw other people who had the same code. The problem was that they could feel a noticeable problem with the tranny, like slipping. My car feels normal, pulls and shifts fine once warm. I do trust my observational judgement when it comes to my car, because I once caught a break and steering problem when my mechanic friend drove my car and said it felt fine.
My question is, has anyone else had an experience where the car freaked, pulled the P1750 code, but felt completely fine afterward? And if so, what did you do to fix it, and what would you recommend? The local Acura dealer is asking $120 just for a full diagnosis, but if I can find out what is actually the solution myself, I can take the car to my usual guy.
All help is much appreciated! Thanks!
