Okay, folks, this mod concept is not special to a TL but since that's what I've got, ('05 TL-S) I'm floating it here...
I'm interested in a "micro-hybrid" mod, in which all of the electrics, including dynamo etc. would be powered by an on-board plug-in lithium battery, taking the alternator out of the mix, thus adding whp/fuel economy. This concept could theoretically be done with any vehicle, but I haven't heard of it before so maybe I'm missing something. I'm conceptually-minded but not technically proficient. Would have the work done by someone who is. But what does Acura-land think about this idea? Any merit? I realize that feasibility would depend on the electricity needed and charge time, but for a regular vehicle that merely uses the alternator to charge an old-fashioned nickel battery, that shouldn't be an issue, right? Am I missing anything? Any take on how much hp gain could be realized?
