Hello all,
Just made an account for this forum, also been reading a lot on transmission and aux "issues" for the 06 models and what not.
I am not a car guy at all so bear with me please.
Anyways, my brother has a black TL 06 with 100xxx on it.
from all the reading, I'm certain the transmission is done.
completely surprised cause this car felts so nice in comparison to my ride, I currently drive a Honda odyessy 1996 with 365xxx on that puppy runs beautifully. BTW my older brother did take my ride for the time being as his ride is out of commission lol
My brother was planning to sell his car to me a couple weeks ago but held off, since the incident happened i guess its perfect time for him to upgrade to an suv for a family he is starting in a year or so.
so he offered me the vehicle for 7000. i would have pay my dad back for the repair cost of the rebuilt transmission, which would cost 2800.
I haven't looked into repairs shops or dealerships yet, but im sure they are going to be pricey.
what are your thoughts on purchasing this vehicle and fixing the transmission? im the type of guy to run things to the ground so i would try to keep it as long as possible. I don't mind the odyssey, with that being said though if this TL is going to give me the same issues in the future. i rather put my money towards a 2009 civic or something.
i am also worried if the second transmission reliable? any experience out there with the second transmission breaking down aswell?
fyi i live in Vancouver, Canada. i don't think the warranty and good will offers are as good as the states
thank you for your time people.
