Got a brand new water heater under warranty. On the old one, the heat traps in the nipples clogged (10 years) and slowed the hot water flow.
So I thought I'd pull the heat trap nipples off the new one and replace with straight through brass nipples. Figured it would be better to give that a go on the old one first (before f-ing up the warranty replacement).
Well I've been cranking on those old nipples with a 24" monkey wrench. Zip, nada, nuttin honey. Tearing those old nipples up, but they don't budge. Not willing to try it on the new one now. Maybe I need a bigger monkey.
I'd like those heat traps out, but not keen on drilling them and letting them fall in either. :dunno:
