GROM vs Canadian NAV TL

Anyone in Canada (or anywhere) own a 3rd Gen TL with factory navigation and have a GROM to Android unit installed?

Does it work reliably?

I have a 2005 TL w/ NAV with a GROM AND2 unit installed. The factory stereo is the non mp3 version and doesn't have an XM tuner connected.

The only way I can get mine to work at the proper volume (equal to the radio or CD) is by;

1- open the NAV DVD tray door in the trunk
2- plug in my Nexus 5 phone, start AAlinQ, press play
3- start the car
4- press play on the phone (sometimes it keeps playing)
5- pray the volume kicks in properly so I don't have to turn it to 40 to hear a song!
6- If / when that works close the DVD trunk tray (if I want to use the NAV)
7- Wait for the stereo to loudly annouce from the rear speakers "USB" then wait 30 seconds for the NAV to load then press "OK"
8- press "play" on the phone if it pauses during step 7 until something plays loud enough.

I've been back and forth with GROM and read the AAlinQ reviews. It seems like they tested their units on U.S. models because mine seems to only crap out (lose 90% of its' volume) because the NAV loads and cuts it off.

Anyone else experience similar or know a fix?
