Had a good run with a tuned MK5 GTi w/ exhaust this morning, freeways were quite empty and my car was feeling strong - gotta love that fall air.
I've noticed a lot of my runs are in 3rd gear, but this time we started all the way in 4th and went to nearly the top of 5th.
I notice the GTI coming up quick and instead of passing, he eventually slows down to my speed and begins pacing.
I look in my rear view, drop from 6th to 4th and took off - we ran from 80-125 and he put roughly 2.5 cars on me even after me getting the jump :what: - thing was quick!
It was a good solid run, didn't bother doing anymore pulls cause it was clear who's car was faster.. I will add, my clutch is not so great anymore - quick shifts cause it to slip and I think granny shifting is quicker in these circumstances. Maybe the race would have been a slightly different if I could slam gears?
Here's a quick pull I did this morning for reference:
132,000 and still going strong.
