Yep, DON'T DO THE RIGHT THING. There's a reason why these low life didn't leave a note. They will deny everything and waste your time.
Instead, if someone dings your brand new car and just walks away. KEY THEIR CAR. And drive off.
That's the only way to handle this type of situations.
I got back from class and noticed a Hyundai Tuscan SUV parked next to my car. (Out of all the parking spaces available).
I walked over to the driver side and noticed a nice little gift from this SUV owner. Thanks!
I looked over at their door and noticed some markings on the edge of the door. I see that I received the worse part of the deal. Looks like they can just wipe off their damage.
I called Campus Security who drove by and said nothing we can do but let me take down your info just in-case something happens.
I called the Police to file a report. And they wouldn't show up til about an hour later.
In the mean time, I walked over the the soccer field and asked some random people who drove this car. This one man, acted as if he was deaf. LOL I said, nevermind.
Went back to my car and 30 minutes later, the cops showed up. I showed them the damage and they agreed, looked pretty obvious they did it.
5 minutes later, the "deaf man" and his wife showed up and denied everything.
I asked them to open the door to see if the damages lined up. And here the funny part. The doors didn't touch.
I said, okay, how about you jump in the car to weigh the car down a little and try again.
They refused!
Moral of the story, don't do the right thing. Key the car that did it and call it a day.
