Roof spoilers really look good on the 3G TL, but I'm wondering what aerodynamic effects it might have on the car.
There's an old thread about aerodynamics on the TL but from what I could find, much of the talk is lower on the car, diffusers and such.
From what I know - which isn't much, admittedly - roof spoilers are useful for downforce if the rear window has a pronounced slope. The classic example would be the hot hatchback. But the rear window of the TL has a very gentle slope to it. A rear decklid spoiler is the in the best position to provide downforce without increasing drag too much.
So roof spoilers - mostly aesthetics, or fully functional and optimal?
