I just figured this out the other day after looking for a way to mount my iPhone in a convenient location. It took scratching my wife's iphone case and a $7 gamble, but it works great. You buy this case: iPhone 5C Case, Daswise® the Beat Series Hard Clear Back Cover Snap on Case for iPhone 5C+ Screen Protector (Zagz 2):Amazon:Cell Phones & Accessories And this phone holder: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MOW...528360_TE_dp_1 Put the case in with the flat side out and on the bottom, just push the holder on the flat part. My tape adapter (06) still works, no grinding. I used an old metal iPhone 4 case at first and it would make the tape player flip sides once and a while, so I recommend the plastic case.
