Replacing the incandescent rear brake and turn signal bulbs with aftermarket LED bulb

Has anyone tried replacing the incandescent rear brake and turn signal bulbs with aftermarket LED bulbs?

Are load resistors required to stop rapid flashing because LEDs draw much less current?
