This is my third car, and all three have been Acura. My first car in high school was a 1997 Integra GS-R, next was a 1999 Acura TL, and now I have a 2010 RDX Tech & SH-AWD. I've had this for 10 months now and absolutely love it.
I was wanting to get another TL because I am a car guy and didn't want a SUV, but I work at oil rigs now and needed a SUV or truck. I wasn't looking forward to a SUV because I was looking at CRVs and others. I then saw the RDX and knew that was the SUV for me. It's pretty quick for a SUV and handles amazing thanks to the awesome SH-AWD. The AWD has already come in handy when off roading too. Some of the oil rigs have really bad dirt/mud roads and are terrible when it rains. I also love the 5.1 surround, had to go buy some DVD audio discs which I wish there were more of and easier to find because they sound great.
So now I am wanting to do some mods for my car to make it faster. My first purchase is going to be a Hondata FlashPro, a new intake, 800cc injectors, and a heatshield gasket. The FlashPro I am definitely getting and the heatshield since its cheap. If I could only get one other thing first, which would you suggest, the injectors or the intake? I most likely will get both, but just in case I can't.
My next purchase when I can will be the ETS Top Mount Intercooler. I really want this, but at $850, it will have to wait. I saw the group buy on here, and if we could do that again, I would buy it in a heartbeat at that price. I of course would like exhaust, but again, can't afford it all at one time and most likely won't be for a while. So what do yall think? Is this a good start?
Where is the best place to order these parts? I was looking at HeelToeAuto and just sent a price quote for the Flashpro, intake, injectors, and heatshield (and a separate one with the ETS intercooler as well just to see). I was wondering though if anyone had other suggestions.
For the intake, I was looking at the C-PE Xcel, or is the K&N Typhoon better?. For the C-PE it says there is a SynoilD or the DFlow filter. Which do yall prefer and what exactly are the benefits of both? For the injectors, I added the 800cc injector upgrade on HeelToe when ordering the FlashPro. Has anyone used these? In the shopping cart it shows they are Deatschwerks injectors. I don't know anything about injectors, are these a good brand and worth the $376? Also, is installing injectors very hard? Never done it before.
Thanks for all the help. I love my RDX and want to make it even better.
