My friend recently got a Black I4 TLX and is getting a lot of props from people at our University. This girl who owns a Lexus GS 350 said that she 'loves the design'. Even my Mom gave it props when we went back to visit during the weekend. My Mom have only been driving Lexus or Mercedes simply due to the Brand name and openly admitted the TLX looks better to her than her current
E Class. I think this is interesting because I have began to notice more and more the very small 'forum community' of car buyers and their opinions isn't really the same as the people who actually splash out the money to buy the cars.
Forum car people often allow their emotions/bias speak for them.
I'm actually thinking about getting the TLX V6 instead of the upcoming
RC350 from Lexus. To me the TLXV6 got enough power, good performance, and a sharp look. Acura still got enough brand power and prestige for me to be proud of the car I'm driving. I am also pretty certain Acura's brand image will rise because of the TLX.
People seeing a bunch of MDXs and TLXS on the road is a good thing.
A expensive luxury SUV carrying the Acura name and a 32,000$+ sedan carrying the Acura name is great for the brand if it's seen everywhere.
