I am thinking about putting a full size spare tire and wheel in my 2012 MDX and getting rid of the mini-spare. If I get the same 18" wheel and Michelin tire which came standard on the car, could I put a TPMS sensor in the spare?
I am wondering if I do put a sensor in, would it be read by the car or cause any faults or tire lights to come on? The only reason I would do this is so I could do a five tire rotation and not having to install/remove the sensor from which ever tire was going into the spare location.
I know there is no setting for the spare tire PSI in the tire readout on the dash. Anyone know if a fifth TPMS in the spare would cause problems?
