I can only see the positive connector. The rest of the battery is covered by a large plastic piece.
What is the easiest way to access the negative connector?
My TL-S has 170,000 miles on it and I am in need of some new suspension ASAP! I have been researching and I am kind of torn between which to go with. I would go with OEM but what are some other recommendations? Keep in mind I am going to be putting on some 255/40/17 on it soon. Does any company make a suspension setup that might lower the car .5"? Should I stick with OEM height? Just seeking some recommendations any input would be greatly appreciated.
Items left from my 2005 TL due to being a total lost. All parts should fit the 3rd Gen TL, but please make sure you do your research. All parts should fit 04-08 except the radio. I can work with shipping cost i.e. some items I can ship for free (US ONLY) and others I can see if I can find the best shipping cost. Paypal fee will be included. Items will be ship once payment is cleared.
Ok, so the local pull apart just got 3 TL's in this week. An 05 and two 06's. I am going to go and see what they look like and see what I can find. I wish I could chat with you guys in real time, lol, but I can always go back if anyone has any pointers on little stuff that I can snatch off of them. I will report back later...
Anyone know how to take off the side view mirror covers (i.e. the painted plastic pieces)? Do I have to take apart the inside door cover, or can I just unclip a plastic piece while moving the mirror lens over?

Has anyone compared the different driving modes for mileage? I asked the dealer who said use comfort mode but I'll know that's based on. Before purchasing the MDX hybrid I had a Toyota Prius plug-in as my round-trip commute is only 5 miles. Now with the MDX I'm looking at a 230 mile round-trip for consulting work once a week. I've already noticed that mileage improves with higher octane gas. Is that everyone else's conclusion? Any other suggestions for maximizing mileage? Thank you.
Tried to buy an A Spec kit from acuraoemparts but they told me both the front lip and side skirts were discontinued for my color (NH643 Anthracite Metallic). Do you guys know where I could find the parts? Or are there people on the forums that can get the OEM parts? Thanks!
Hello, my sister's 2006 Acura TL is having a common overheating problem. Seems that after I fill up the radiator it's fine for a few days and then resumes overheating or visible leak. There is no white smoke in exhaust or milky oil. I have replaced the fan and its relays as well as the thermostat. The reservoir is full of coolant but I have never seen the car draw from the tank. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
Just recently leased a 2019 2.4L Tech Package [ my first Acura ever btw yay me and my husband has a 2010 TSX :) ] not even a month ago and last night - idiot me - while leaving the bowling alley, didn't make a wide enough turn and scratched/dented my passenger side skirt on a round curb. I'm debating on trying to fix it at home or if it would be better to get an estimate from a shop? From anyone's experience, what do you think the estimated cost would be? is this an easy fix?
I opened the hood today after a rain and saw puddles of water around the indicated areas on the pic below.
It looked like the plastic was just sort of contoured that way to hold a little puddle of water. 2018 v6 fwd aspec, if it matters. I would think all tlx's would have this issue though.
Just seemed sort of weird to me. I would guess it would have taken at least a day or so to dry up if the car didn't move. Will my tlx go green if I don't drive it enough? :sniff:
Hello all. Sorry if this topic has been covered, but I am having trouble with the tpms. The car is a 07 TL type s and I was wondering if there is a relearn procedure. I called Acura and they want to charge a minimum of $200 just to check the problem and maybe fix the issue by reprogramming the sensor. Please if anyone can help and sorry once again if this was covered.
P.s. I bought the replacement part at rockauto and it says to follow same relearn procedure as oem but no instructions.
So I've had this 2006 acura tl for about a year and a half and ever since I had it it's always made this noise when I start it and when it reaches 1800rpm or 3100rpm (relatively close to those rpms) and I havent got a damn clue what would cause such a god awful noise. It comes from what I can tell from the back of the engine. (The sound in question is the high pitched friction noise that goes on and off). It stops making the noise in park/ idle after being at operating temperature but when driving the sound comes back at 1800rpm for a second and then 3100 rpm as well. It only happens at that specific rpm and stops right after.
In Sport+ the dash displays a G-meter that the manual says shows fictitious force. I understand what that is from my last physics course 50+ years ago, but I dont understand why I would want to know. Should it be influencing my driving, or is it just there to look cool?
Has anyone tried throttle body spring replacement on 99 TL? My throttle cable doesn't seem to return fully once car runs for few miles. I have cleaned throttle body and IACV both. Replaced IACV as well with no effect. Looks like the spring/pulley connected to the the cable coming from the left side of the bay (not the one connected to accelerator) has difficulty returning back. Works for a while after spraying with soft degreaser and silicone lobes only to get problematic again on the road.
Is there a part no for springs. I could find the whole TB assy only available for replacement and I wasn't sure if anyone else had a better DIY fix for this. Also, what is a good lube to apply to this spring harness.
DO I need to do anything on the CC box where the cable is coming from?
Needed these to take it to another level in the Tlx.
Came out of the tlx and 03 Cl before that.
Hello everyone,
Long time member.
in the past I had 2 integras, 2 CL and just traded 15 TLX sh-awd for 19 MDX tech.
ive wanted to get an Mdx for a long time but it was just a matter of time. Got a able to negotiate a really good deal so I jumped on it. Picked it up yesterday.
i searched the forums for the last week or so during my negotiations but could not find any info on sprint booster.
anyways I took the SB and the vcm muzzler out of the tlx and luckily its the exact same plug on the Mdx and the combo works like a charm.
Tlx was really aggressive with the combo and I loved it. Mdx is about 500 kg heavier so I expected it to not react the same was a sedan would.
this morning I plugged in the combo and wow what a world of difference it makes. No cel or any other warnings. The car despite the weight just drives so much another and responds so much better.
the car is going for Front tints today. Next would be the speakers upgrade.
