So I just had an oil change done at my local Acura dealership and they noticed there was a bit of an oil leak and told me to bring it back. They tore it apart and discovered oil everywhere and say the rear main seal went bad. Now my car has 67k miles and I'm at the cusp of the powertrain warranty expiring so at least this will get covered. Same dealership had mentioned they noticed a couple drops of oil a few services and thousands of miles ago but told me it was nothing and may have just been some residue. I've only got like 3k miles of powertrain warranty left and they mentioned that it may not be covered again if I have issues afterwards.
Anyone have any similar issues? I would expect Acura to extend the warranty on that repair or anything related since we found it before hand. I've owned 4 Acuras now if I include my parent's MDX and been with them for nearly 12 years. This is the last thing I expected for a car thats only 3 years old. What should I do? Lemon-law buyback? Sell it and move on to another brand?
