For the Record: The 3.2 Timing Belt...

...is an absolute nightmare.

I replaced the timing belt on my 2001 CL Type S. I started at noon on Sunday and by 10 PM I still wasn't done. Every single bolt was a fight from the timing covers to the motor mount to the crank pulley. It took me three hours to get the bolt out of the crank pulley. 1/2 inch impact - no. 3/4 inch impact - no. Porta-Power between the holder tool and a ratchet - no. Finally I used my oxy-acetylene torch to heat part of the washer to glowing and then used the impact. It came right out.

I replaced the belt, water pump, idler pulley, tensioner pulley, and the tensioner. I skipped the seals because it is too hard to get at them.

I can't finish because I can't get the bolt back in the dipstick tube. Check my dipstick tube bolt thread. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I used to love this car.... :swear:

Just upgraded my IPhone SE/128 GB, to an XR/128GB
Couldn't resist the $400 discount afforded by TMobile
Anyway, no more CarPlay blips; transitions from Apps, Music, Phone, etc. are flawless
Interesting feature, is that now, the Phone can wirelessly charge, in the TLX/A-SPEC
Actually, it's insignificant, because CarPlay requires USB connection
Options, options, options
Technology, when working properly, is a beautiful thing!

Possibly blown rear sub

Hi,
I have posted earlier on how to remove the rear deck cover. After doing so, I notice that the rattle came from the driver itself, the middle part, in red. I will attach a picture.

My question is to know, if the sub is blown, or if it is something that can be fixed.

Thank you

Anyone here have changed their battery by themselves? Is it pretty much a straightforward replacement, loosening up the bolts here and there, or are there any hidden gotchas? Any tips would also be great!

Thinking about this Champion AGM battery with 760 CCAs.

Newb question - just AC drain tube?

$

Hi all - total newbie question...just picked up a 2006 TSX 6MT. Had it only for just a few days. And there is a liquid leaking from what seems to be just behind the engine, slightly on the passenger side. Dripping about once or twice a minute. It seems to be just water (no color or smell), so I am guessing this is just from AC.

Thoughts?

And really looking forward to getting to know this car. First Acura (or Honda).

Original owner of a 2003 CL Type S with a complete Comptech modification made when the car was practically brand new back in 2003. Just drove it all these years for pleasure which is why it only has 50,800 miles on it. Thinking of finally selling it but still love to taking it out once in awhile so it is a tough decision.

Cargo length with the rear seats folded flat

Hi Folks, Do not have an RDX yet but serious looking at getting one to replace my busted 08 CR-V. One question I had was regarding the length of the cargo area with the rear seats folded flat (the seat bottom popped up the seat-backs folded flat). I go car camping quite often on the California Central Coast and on occasions that it rains, I usually sleep in my car. On the CRV with the rear seat folded flat, I have about 54inches (from the rear cargo door to the Bottom side of the popped up seat bottom. which is not nearly enough. It works in a pinch but you have to sleep with your legs folded. I was wondering how much space the 1st Gen RDX has with the Rear seats folded flat.

Hi Folks,
I accidentally trashed my 2016 Passenger Side Rear Seat-Headrest. Thinking about buying the used one. After few research, 2016 Passenger Side Rear Seat Headrest will at least cost me $99 (Used) and $300(new).
Is the 2013-2015 Passenger Side Rear Seat Headrest also fits my 2016?
Thanks

What's my 2005 6MT A-SPec worth?

Hi guys, i have a 2005 A-Spec with 6 Speed Manual (Brembo Brakes). Car has 250K miles on it. It runs beautifully and needs nothing. There's a few dings on the paint but it's in great cosmetic condition, overall. It does have the cracked dash issue. This is my second vehicle and i don't drive it as often as it deserves. On one hand, I want to drive it as long as possible and see how far this baby can go. On the other hand, if I could get a decent amount of $$ for it, i could use it to buy more stuff for my other car (2000 Porsche 911).

Is the A-Spec version that rare and desirable? The body kit looks nice and the wing on the trunk is tasteful, without being "too much".

What's your opinions?

07 TL-S AC does not work when car is pointed uphill

I've started having some odd AC trouble on my 2007 TL Type S.
The AC seems to work fine while driving around or even when in park. It blows cold and moving the temperature setting up and down does make the temperature (to my untrained hand) change.
However, as soon as I have to drive up a decent hill or grade, it seems like the AC stops blowing cold air.
This has happened while on the road on some decent inclines, but also in my work's parking garage ramps.
As for relative temperatures, I generally keep it set to about 70f in the car. Today in the morning it was in the low 80s (f) and this has also happened during the day when the temperature was in the mid to upper 90s over the last few days.
Any ideas as to what could be causing it to only have an issue while pointing up hill?

Do the rear brake lights come on when ACC downshifts fo maintain speed?

When the ACC is engaged and the vehicle is slowing do the rear brake lights come on? If so at what point. Coming down rather steep hill I can feel the car downshifting quite a bit. At one point a car behind got pretty close like he didn’t know I was slowing.

Bought the car off my buddy who gave these to me with the car. I don't plan on going air so I am putting these up for sale. Was on the car for 5k miles before he took them off, put the car stock and sold the car to me.

Located in Sacramento, CA or San Diego, CA. Asking $800 OBO picked up, can ship at buyer's expense. Will trade for Tein coilovers or wheels (18x9.5).

Intermittent crank/ no start p0335

Hey guys,
I’m dealing with an issue I am having with a 2005 TL auto with nav. Initially the car would not start, only code was P0335 ( crank position sensor) . I replaced the fuel pump relay and realized the car had little to no gas (added gas) and started up and ran fine for 2 weeks.
And than I got a service engine soon B message, car ran rough and it would not restart. The P0335 code came back. After a few days I tried again and it started back up and ran ok but I’m going to do some service and hopefully pinpoint the issues before trusting it as a daily. My question is: Should I replace the crank position sensor? Is this code common and is this a common fix, or possibly PCM? ( appeared to be dry and free of corrosion). I’m definitely doing plugs and all other maintenance. Anybody deal with this? Any help is appreciated, I can answer and follow any instructions that can help you help me.

Thanks again,
Paul
